Why could you wait until Sunday for this to happen??!!
Epic Terry! Epic!
Dont feel bad. Anything contrary to their belief system will be traumatic. I think they may just be tuning in for the royal commission for the rest of the hearing.
i always sit in the same spot, just outside starbucks in a vestibule area with a table in the air-conditioned space.
i say "always," but not today.. somebody with two laptops and a table filled with business ledgers was in "my" favorite spot!.
so, i took a tiny wooden table inside the coffee shop on a long padded bench next to 3 other identical tables.. as the clickbait banner ads like to say: "and what happened next was simply unbelievable!".

one of the contributing factors to me leaving was the realisation we were being led by idiots.
bethel life reinforced that, middle aged ego's trying to suck up to brooklyn.
ray franz book was a final nail for me, because he described the same incompetence along with the same ego's.
The GB were held in high esteem because they were not in the limelight. JW broadcasting has definitely exposed their real personalities.
Unfortunatley, the rank n file believe that Jesus picked unlettered and ordinary men to lead his congregation. The GB are definitely unlettered, but very unordinary.
why would you proceed to invite me to their meetings?
wtf?
how much clearer can i make my stance????
my wife and i planned on fading but the elders now want a shepherding call and we are just done.
i know that many play the game to try to stay in, but i'm not a game player and neither is my wife.
our families already shun us because we reached out to a disfellowshipped family member.
I'm sure it will be announced at the congregation that has your publisher cards.
The book, Captives of a Concept, put it succinctly: 10,000 words wont make a difference if they aren't ready to face the truth about the organization, but a few choice words will make all the difference with someone who is ready.
I was disfellowshipped because I found out too much TTATT, but either way, it's the same thing: DF or DA = complete shunning. The bright side is that you can be your true self without having to look over your shoulder for other JW's.
I couldn't put on two faces. Once I knew it was all a sham, I was done. Why waste time and energy?
i had a pretty good meet up today with some good buddies and one of them brought up a great point from the greatest man book.
doesn't it look like jw's believe in hell to you from the picure of the rich man and lazarus?.

disclaimer: your mileage may vary.
if you are a married, "active, in good standing" (tm), jw male who has recently discovered that the .
watchtower is not what it claims to be, this thread is for you.
I was a respected ministerial servant when I started waking up to TTATT. I never once wanted to share anything with my wife because it was too traumatic for me. I didn't want to traumatize her at the same time. But she kept prodding me why I wasn't myself and so I shared a morsel with her. Rinse and repeat a few week later. Rinse and repeat a few week later, again. Well, my wife ended up giving me the ultimatum: go to the elders or I will because it's my spiritual obligation.
In that process, the elders turned their back on me and did some pretty hurtful things to me, eventually disfellowshipping me. By that time, I didn't want to be a JW anyways, but I didn't want my family ripped away from me either.
There is no easy way, nor is there a tried and true method in waking up a spouse. I've heard before: The JW's are in love with the organization. Who breaks up with someone they are in love with? Only until they fall out of love with the organization will they be ready to wake up.
Those are wise words in my opinion. NOTHING will work until they are ready. Unfortunately, my wife is still in love with the organization despite the TTATT I shared with her, AND despite telling her what the elders personally did to me. It hurts like hell knowing she chose to trust and believe an organization and sneaky, conniving, heartless elders over her own husband. I don't know if things will ever be the same, even if she wakes up.
Hats off to those who have successsfully woke up their spouse, and to those couples who woke up together. I don't think I could have faked being a JW any longer than I had to when I was DF'd. I could barely give a service meeting part, go out in field service, or give a public talk when I was awake.
one year ago, this thursday, i went to work as usual.
i got home, ate dinner, got myself dressed for the meeting, and helped my kids get ready like i usually did.. my son had a talk that evening, his second one.
many of my family went to support him.
a couple of us xjws and awake jws meet for coffee and brunch every few sunday's.
im me if you are interested.
so i have not reported a single hour of fs or family worship in over 8 months.
have not given a single comment in a meeting for over a year.
a few weeks ago, my brother in law, who is an ms now, approached me.
I would never think of asking an inactive JW to help with demos when I had parts that called for it. When I became a MS, I started asking any active JW to help with demos, just to spice things up from hearing the same 6-8 people in the congregation give demos. I asked a barely active but regular JW couple to help give the WT and Awake presentations for the month and my COBE approached me that I should run it by him who I used onstage for demos because the couple were not a zealous example.
Something is very fishy with the original post. There is probably something behind the BIL and the elders motives to ask you to do this part.
i was born into this religion.
i was a jw for well over 30 years.
i did much research before i had internet, i compared bibles and prayed deeply to help me to know if this was the truth.
